One added factor is the way he lifts the cueball on long screw shots, basically flicking the tip upwards at the end of the action - this lowers the drag across the cloth as it makes the cueball skip a little down the table, retaining the backspin over a longer distance.

This is part of why he has such great cuepower.

You have made a lot of fantastic videos but this is my favourite so far. I really wish the BBC would spend more time analysing these micro-issues in players' gameplay. You have gone through this forensically, and used Ronnie as a comparison. It shows just how unusual and idiosyncratic Trump's play really is. I never noticed the raising of the cue on his back stroke. But I love that you used lines on the screen to show how the ball ends up running straight, or with side/screw that Trump deliberately plays. It isn't the straight shots that impress me about Trump, it's the way his brain calculates power, contact, and sometimes screw and side and makes the tip hit the cue-ball correctly right at that last millisecond. I haven't always been a fan of Trump, but he has ground me down in the last 3 years and I can't help but fully admire and respect his play anc conduct. THANKS MAN!

5:30 :-O That's my mistake! I casually paid attention to that now after this video and I was actually lifting the tips of my fingers off the cue to get more cue power. With them resting on the cue at all time I have so much more control and miss so much less. Thank you!
