I Found Rat-Tailed Maggots Living In My Outdoor Tub!

I quick look at one of the more bizarre and potentially hazardous creatures that can show up in outdoor tubs of water. Rat-tailed Maggots are the aquatic larvae of hoverflies which are important pollinators of agricultural crops as well as many species of wildflowers. These maggots are a potential danger to both you and your fish. Do not feed this aquatic insect larva to your fish. . .

The innards of these things look crazy. It almost looks like it's full of parasitic worms, but you can see those strand structures contributing to the movement. Probably the funkiest looking larva I've seen. Thanks for the video.

I seen these years ago in a turtle pond. I asked my grandma what they were and her utter revulsion is what i remembered the most 😂😂 she freaked right the fuxout and told me to get away 😂

Gosh, it's scary 😯. Thanks for detailed filming and show us this bizarre creature. Hypnotizing movements are present inside this little alien 😵‍💫 Fish keepers must be careful when collecting living food from outside water reservoir. I will check if that species is living in my region.
