Clinical psychological science has developed efficacious treatments for emotional and behavioral difficulties encountered by children and adolescents, but most of the studies have been conducted by American, university-based research labs. This presentation by Dr. Rosaura Orengo Aguayo of the Medical University of South Carolina describes the implementation of Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) in 3 separate low-resourced settings (rural South Carolina, Puerto Rico, and El Salvador) utilizing the Exploration, Preparation, Implementation, and Sustainment (EPIS) framework and guided by a community-based participatory research framework for cultural and contextual adaptation. This program is presented in partnership with the Brown School’s Center for Mental Health Services Research and CRE²: The Latinx | Latin American Race & Ethnicity Research Unit.
