EA Sports and Konami have been battling it out for years when it comes to the FIFA and Pro Evolution Soccer series.

This year is no different with the release of FIFA 12 and PES 2012. Both games have received positive reviews and each have their own strengths and weaknesses.

I was fan of fifa until this year.. Almost everthing is still better in Fifa, though the most important one is better in PES. And that is gameplay and ai. Every match is unique unlike in FIFA, where every player have same control of the ball and passing.. In PES you can directly recognize, that you play with Messi or Ronaldo.. Altough stats are good in fifa, their reproduction on field has small impact. And that is big let down for me, becouse that is the thing, why we watch football..

You summed it all up man. Soccer fans should get both as I just can barely decide which I like more. I like FIFA 12 but some things such as the drama from PES the coaches on the sideline, the Champions League and more in depth soccer tutorials make me want PES also.

That's crazy, how they haven't heard of the PES series is mental.

I like modern day setting but I agree FrosBite 2 engine in WW1 and 2 setting would be awesome, to be honest every shooter needs the FrostBite engine now, it's revolutionised the genre and made those which use it head and shoulders above the rest.

I prefer Pes over Fifa just a few days ago at my girlfriends house I played pes 2009 with her brother and we had some real good matches, then he remembered that he borrowed fifa 2012 from a friend (hes more into racing-games) we plugged it in, and it felt so slow and players so sluggish, felt like I was fighting the slow pace of the game more than my opponent...

I've been playing both FIFA and PES (priory, superstar soccer ) since 1997, and i would say PES is ALWAYS much better, simply because the detailing in pes always makes it better, to be fair with Fifa, it has quicken its pace to follow up pes the last years but the lack of details always make fifa lose.the Japanese have considered in their game realistic things since the first time PES come out, the wind direction, the field dryness, the fitness of the player, the psychological status, many things.

You'd be surprised. I've met a bunch of fans of soccer who never heard of PES. If you goto a store there aren't normally many copies of the game especially comparing to FIFA.

MOH was for sure unfinished, few guns few modes I think they were just trying to re-establish the series but I'd much prefer a WW2 or even WW1 environment . We have enough modern day shooters why not have the frostbite engine setting in those days? Wouldn't be bad imo

pes 6 was incredible, shame konami never really moved on from that. Fifa is by far the better game now.

PES 12 is actually better in graphics and play as well its more fun to play

To me, Pes seems more random and varied in it's gameplay. Each team that i play seems different. With Fifa I always get a sense that it's only the shirts and names that have changed and underneath it's the same mechanics for each team which means it's predictable. Both games have flaws and Fifa is much better presented than Pes. However, I like to play games rather than menus! The learning curve of Pes is quite steep which is good in a way.

In my opinion PES is more fun and more customizable. People complain about lack of licenses but if you are not lazy, you can make the teams because the rosters are right.The only reason I would buy fifa is because of the licenses and because more people play it online.

everyone that owns a pc should get pes because of the pes smoke patch(or something like that) .it includes transfers, players kits, real teams ( premier league+ bundesliga+ some other leagues) balls, boots, stadiums, you name it. it makes pes a whole lot better.

for you who want to feel how realistic PES 2012 you try to follow the steps below, set the console to the 1080p graphics and set the game speed to be -2 and use the camera live broadcasting as well as set the play time to 15 min do not forget to set the sharpness on the LCD TV set you become more soft not too sharp, so you get used to this, you will cry wow PES 2012 is the best

I like the hostility between FIFA and PES fans. I have both but after playing PES for 5 minutes, I put it down, It so bad Game Stop won't take it back.

FIFA 12 has everything except a decent gameplay. Its always frustrating to play as it plays nothing like football. While on the other hand, PES 12 plays a brilliant game of football. Hopefully EA will buckle up and put in some major work on FIFA 13's gameplay.

Easier no, more licenses yes. And to clear that up more licenses is a positive, a big positive.

No it CAN be at times, Barcelona don't pay the referees, there's controversy in so many football matches, people just make it a big deal for Barcelona simply because they are one of if not the top club in the world.

I like both pes2012 fr its master league champions league and online master league and fifa12 for the online modes and manager mode both good games in there own way :)

This is an isolated incident, does not mean PES is all of the sudden better. Chelsea is called London FC in that game :)

All players on PES have square body (like sponge bob), are made of plush and for last: they shine, just like a "vampire" that we know from recent teen histories.
No wonder kids like pes the most.
