Some of these are terrible. A subscription for a cutting board with a screen. What? Existing cutting board with an iPad and watch recipes on YouTube. Done.

The oven can post directly to social media, wow! Can the urine monitor thing do that too? I'm sure all my friends want to know in real time!

There had to be better products at CES then a cutting board with a subscription.

CES was definitely a swing and a miss this year. Too many products trying to solve problems that don’t exist. It’s as if we’ve reached a “now what?” moment in tech innovation. Just because we can do something doesn’t always mean we should.

A list of things that really did not need to be invented.

This was a parody video right? This can't be where we're at in 2023 can it?

Yes. Just what I need… social media integration built directly into my oven, which’ll probably 1.) immediately break and 2.) be outdated in a year or 3.) end up failing anyway as some required API on the company’s side gets deprecated.

Sooner or later everything in the house is gonna have RGB. So, when will there be a mattress that has RGB elements based on what you do on your bed?

Only good one is the urine monitor. Giving people more ways to track their health and take care of themselves is awesome. The other one with potential is an oven having the ability to monitor your food and help you avoid burning your food -- but I'm not convinced it's quite there yet.

it's a little embarrassing that they think we need refrigerators that change colors

The urine thing may not be the worst thing, depending on how accurate it is.

All of them just focus on packing as much tech in a product to be able to charge as much as possible or call something "smart".
None of them actually solve any real problems which is why we buy stuff like this.
Cutting board with 40 dollars subscription takes the cake though.

No way you considered a $799 cutting board a top product. where a quarter of it is unusable due to the tablet that only functions properly with a $39 a month subscription.
