Shelter is one of my top ten movies. Beautiful and with a happy ending. As does The Way He Looks, lovely very touching story of a boy both gay and blind.

SHELTER and Latter Days are my absolute favorite gay themed movies of all time.

I agree with you over Heartstone...This has been one of my favourite movies from the first time I watched it back in 2018

Weekend is one of those films that just stick. It seems so natural and effortless - direct and honest., But the skill, intelligence, and heart that went into it are apparent in every scene .Deeply affecting

Great list! It is interesting how people see this type of movie as promoting instead of acknowledging the existence of people that are different to promote their acceptance. Looking forward to a world in which can just be themselves and not what is expected from them.

My beautiful laundrette was really groundbreaking. The two relatively unknown actors were superb. I’ve watched it more than once.

Good list. The acting in Shelter is amazing. Everyone should see it. But Weekend is a favorite. Terrific movie. Now to watch some of the others.

Pride is REALLY GOOD please please give it a chance. It's not boring, has good pacing, acting, and writing, every character is interesting, and is based on a true story.

The Weekend hit me like a ton of bricks the first time I saw it! Both character's lives resonated with my lived experiences like no other movie I've ever seen. It stirred emotions from my past that had long been forgotten. It's one of my favorite movies!

Shelter and The Way He Looks are two of my favorites. I have Shelter on DVD and The Way He Looks I purchased through Amazon downloads. I go and re-watch them about once a year.

I've seen all these great films except for Pride, but Shelter still remains my favorite of the bunch. Now I'll have to check out Pride.

I've seen 5 of the ten on your list, and I certainly enjoyed these 5. Thanks for reminding me of these interesting films! My ranking would be as follows ...
1. Shelter ... just because it is AMAZING! and yet script feels like an everyday, ordinary ongoing conversation!
2.Pride: great acting, and a significant history lesson as well ... though I tuned out the voice of Maggie Thatcher!
3. Summer Storm ... because I could understand the German and occasionally want to correct the subtitles, and because I appreciated the "honesty in the main character being scared of coming out.
4.My Beautiful Launderette: the script for this film is spot-on and thus feels authentic!
5. Weekend: I thought the two main characters were authentic.

Thank you for this thoughtful list. I've watched Shelter, Summer Storm, and The Way He Looks. I enjoyed all three, but, being partially blind myself, i especially loved the hopeful, gentle, believable Way He Looks.

Here are a few other suggestions, "Big Eden" 2002, "Beautiful Thing" 1986 and "Bedrooms and Hallways" 1999.
