Greta Gerwig said that the movie is inspired by the change girls go through in adolescence, how they were confident and brash as little kids but in their teenage years they don't think they're good enough.

The Barbie screaming about Flat feet is so hilarious to me because it's literally a super dramatic reenactment of me as a kid getting a Barbie with flat feet, they sucked!!
(For people who never played with Barbies, if you got a flat-foot Barbie... she couldn't wear heels, which was like 98% of shoes Barbie had and if you lost the shoes she came with... your Barbie would just be walking around barefoot.)

Wow, Barbie looks phenomenal for 64 years old! 😄 She was “born” a month before me. As a low-income senior I wait for reviews and borrow select movies from the library when they’re on DVD. I think the first Avatar is the last time I was motivated to actually go to the theater. But I’m going for opening day of Barbie and saying “Take my money!”

A crazy fan theory-this movie is set in the same universe as the lego movie and will farrell is the same character from that-and that's why he's even more freaked out that barbie is alive.

I kinda find it funny Will Ferrel is now attached to both Legos and Barbie, two of the most iconic childrens toy franchises of all time. It's only happened twice but it's strange that it did. Whats next? Wiill Ferrel in a movie about Mighty Max or Polly Pocket?

I didn't care about this movie at all until this trailer. The things that really changed my mind were the existential stuff and expanded plot, the Indy movie style animated transitions of Ken and Barbie on all the vehicles, and the humor, especially Ken's bit at the end

I think because girls aren’t playing with Barbie dolls anymore, this is affecting Barbie, so she goes to the real world to find out why. So I think this will have layers, where Barbie has to reinvent herself.
