There is a little confusion on this. You cannot get salvation just by confessing. But the mouth confession is because of the beliefs from the heart. The heart first for total salvation and the confession come naturally.

So I’m still confused on why it says confession is made unto salvation so we’re made righteous by believing but not saved till we confess

I believe this but a friend of mine says calling is necessary to be saved which is what the verse says. What type of salvation is in view when we call?

Amen! My life was made a living hell because of "calling on God!". I guess the Ethiopian eunuch wasn't born of God!

You said that calling results on salvation but belief results in righteousness. Which one is it then? Isn't being made righteous and being saved the same thing? I don't quite follow.

Several “salvations” in scripture; like from hell, temporal death, God’s wrath, apostasy, enemies, childbirth…saved after believing, call for saving from anything other than from hell which is by grace through faith in the finished work of CHRIST plus nothing.

I'm confused by this. So, confession unto salvation. What salvation? Eternal life? I thought that was gained through faith.

What does the scripture mean when it says "with the mouth confession is made unto salvation" since we're saved when we believe?
