Thanks for the video; I recently got hired as IA but for a ROC program(highschool). I help students with their work but am more of a babysitter (I think), do errands for the teacher, ensure they get on their busses, and leave our center on the right bus back to their homeschool. (easiest job, I've ever had, and the staff and faculty are so kind) I'm finishing up the last semester of my undergraduate, hope I can be a teacher someday.

Hello. I just stumbled onto your video and explain a good majority of things for but do have this question. Currently I work as a bus attendant at my local school district but just interviewed/hired for a teacher aide position in a elementary school in my district. So I am excited but nervous to start this new side of things in a public school setting. I have a early childhood education background combined with experience in school bus transportation as driver/attendant. So I guess what am asking what to expect for my first day in this new role? Is it going to be like a teacher's aide in a daycare setting/bus monitoring? Will post below this what my new boss gave as a description. Thank you for time and feedback to my questions. A teacher aides' duties include assisting the teacher in the classroom, assisting students and other clerical duties as needed for educational prep. The teacher aides do NOT assist in the cafe.
