Sky, Sun & Flybys - Pics of Planets & Stars (Nikon P1000 Thoughts)

A look at Thursday's Ohio Sky with a horde of stuff scooting around up there. Some short clips of Jupiter and Saturn from last night's footage, plus some wider star & planet photos. A bit of a ramble about the new Nikon P1000 camera coming out on Sept 6th, 2018.

What filter did you use for the night star shots for the stars to show up better while blocking out the rest?

You used a ND 1000 filter and what else for the sun?

@DiversityJ Love your channel! Regarding P1000, which I am also considering for planet scoping, it is being said that the lens long side will not be of much use with F/8 due to excessive diffraction, wondering about your thoughts on that.

A few days ago I bought a wooden tripod. My old one made of aluminium and plastic is just catastrophic with the P900. I'm very excited to use the P1000 together with that tripod. Btw, what kind of filter do you use to spot the sun? Kind regards from Lower Saxony (Germany) to Ohio. Christian

Careful you just may hypnotize all your viewers. .... just add a couple of suggestions afterwards.... your voice can help so many people like me who suffer with pain but refuse to use opioids or conventional medicine.

My device shows a waxing crescent moon today. Can’t see it due to being close with the sun. Hopefully once the sun sets, I should see it plus the other planets. With good weather permitting of course. Nice scenery. I don’t know why but you kind of remind me of someone who taught me astronomy a long time ago. Anyways have a great weekend. I be glad to see more sun/moon/stars/planets videos.
