Driving from Koblenz to Limburg on Bundesautobahn 48 & 3 - Germany

Before 1926, Koblenz was named Coblenz. It is a German city on the Rhine and the Moselle, a multi-nation tributary of the Rhine. Drusus founded Koblenz as a Roman military garrison in the year 8 B.C. Its name comes from the Latin cnfluents, which means "confluence."

Limburg a der Lahn is a town in the German state of Limburg. The Limburg Cathedral, with its lofty spires, is recognized for its distinctive, painted exterior. Signet rings and chalices are among the items on display in the Diocesan Museum. The Haus der sieben Laster is a medieval half-timbered house in the old town with sculptures depicting the seven deadly sins. The Alte Lahnbrücke is a 14th-century bridge with a fortified tower that spans the Lahn River.

Bundesautobahn 48 is an autobahn in western Germany. From the junction with the A 1 it connects to the A 3 and A 61 near Koblenz and is fully part of European route E 44.

Bundesautobahn 3 is an autobahn in Germany running from the Germany-Netherlands border near Wesel in the northwest to the Germany-Austria border near Passau.

Here in the USA the signage on the interstate highways is the same on the autobahn, (blue for directionals and locations, Brown for historic sites and other attractions). Was there ever a conference held to unify the road signage in Europe and the US? I enjoy your road trips very much!!
