Vyškov (Haná Veškov, German Wischau; formerly Víškov) is a town located in the northern part of the South Moravian Region in the Vyškov District on the Haná River, 35 km northeast of Brno. It lies almost in the middle of Moravia on the border of the Drahanská vrchovina, Litenčické vrchovina and the lowlands of the Hornomoravský úval at an altitude of about 250 m above sea level. It is one of the border towns of the Haná region. It has approximately 20 thousand inhabitants and is the fifth largest town in the South Moravian Region.
