When 18/9 was released, it was to have a bigger screen in the same phone with a 16/9 screen but with bezels.
Now 18/9 is used and misused everywhere with bezels etc. Making the phone taller than ever!

Alcatel is right up there with the other big players in my book. Haven't had a bad experience with them ever. Good on them.

I hate this 18:9 meme. It just gives you black bars in most videos and makes the phones structurally weaker with no real advantage in real life usage. 16:10 ratio on phones I could get behind because it actually increases the usable real state of the screen, but just renaming 2:1 as a gimmick really bothers me.

Do not get any of these phones. I have the alcatel 3 from T-Mobile and it's not worth your money. The processor is ancient and slow, the call quality is hit or miss, and the camera is "ok" but lacks a MANUAL MODE.
