The TRUTH About The Chosen Quote!

The Chosen is a critically acclaimed show depicting Jesus and His disciples. In a recently released trailer for the show, The Chosen shows Jesus talking with a pharisee and Jesus is seen saying "I am the law of Moses" but is this simply an innocuous quote or something worse? In this video, I provide my thoughts on The Chosen's recent trailer and if that quote is the smoking gun proof that the show is inspired by Mormon beliefs.

Don't rely on a show/movie to give you your representation of Jesus.
If you wanna know the words of our Lord and a very detailed work up of his life read the Bible you can't get it wrong that way when you let God just speak straight to you.

Mathew 5 17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

Good Afternoon Pastor, I really enjoy your channel! I love how you look through things with a biblical lens. As you know, the Bible stands by itself. The Bible doesn't need anything added or removed from it. Keep up the great work! All glory to God! God bless you!!

When Dallas made a rebuttal of himself saying Mormons have the same JESUS he basically said not all Mormons do but those certain Mormons who he is friends with and works with do and my thoughts were if they do then why are they still Mormons

“Behold, ” He said, “I am the law, and the light. Look unto me, and endure to the end, and ye shall live” (3 Nephi 15:9). Seems to be right in their text. Straight from the LDS scriptures on their website. Not to bash the show put personally I don't like theatrical depictions of Christ, but that's just me. I'd be weary but I'll choose to exercise charity until more is known. I did like the first season when I saw it some years back.

But how in the world did the writers even think to put something like that in there? It’s a red flag 🚩 and has no scriptural backing! That’s scary 😧

I'm a Muslim(I have surrendered to the One) and I agree with many of your reflections. It is comforting to see Christians searching for the Truth by going to the texts that were sent to the prophets and conveyed by the messengers. I hope you continue on the path and find the way if your heart is sincere for the One, the Eternal, the Forgiving, the Owner of everything, the Purifier, Sustainer, the Provider. Nothing is like the All Mighty. Once sincerity enters your heart and your mind, it is harder for the Evil One to destroy you. Remember the ultimate goal of th Evil One is to get you to say, feel, think that the Almighty is not One (by associating other humans, objects, or creation with the Most High, the Creator). I love you sons and daughters of Adam ♥️

When I read through Zechariah and Isaiah, the future of Israel is an interesting one, and scary for those outside of the Kingdom of God. You will LOOK on the carcasses of those who rebelled against him and their worm shall not die. Everything must be captured and discerned in pursuit of truth today. Even I have failed this many times. All believers will tabernacle with God again. Pray for the lost!

Charles Spurgeon said the same thing and Todd Friel. Are we going to stop supporting them? Have you not read Luke 24:44?

I’m still skeptical of this show. I would rather trust in the Bible, illumination of the Holy Spirit, fellowship and prayer. I know that there are a lot of people who love this show but I have not jumped on the bandwagon. Thanks for the video and God bless.

No matter how pure your intentions are as a Christian, there will always be other “Christians” ready to condemn you.

The show is fine my man. God bless you.

Bro, I have been full of stress about this for the past 2 days, trying to provide scripture and explanation, that Jesus claiming to be "The Law" is not biblical, and is bad theology.
I did my homework. It IS IN THE MORMON BOOK and ON THEIR WEBSITE as you have shown (thank you for showing that, btw)! I even gave them the direct link to the Latter Day Saints website.
I didn't use the argument about Dallas being a "Mormon" or trying to insert Mormon doctrine, etc., but it is Mormon doctrine and NOT Biblical doctrine. This was a poor choice for dialog in the show. It should've never been used because of its controversial meaning.
The people I encountered were so combative, that are fellow believers. No matter what scripture I showed, they accused me of using my "opinion" and not the truth, and one even said I was "throwing stones!" Respectfully stating scripture that conflicts with their views, was "stone throwing?!" I was done at that point. Just wow.
. I finally told them, that the conversation is done, that it is going nowhere.

Jesus is the fulfilment of the Law and as such this statement, while unfortunately worded, is not heretical. Dallas Jenkins and his organization have done a tremendous job in making Jesus relatable and people are being drawn to Christ as a result. The LDS church, as I understand it, is only an investor in this project. You create monetized videos, if a Mormon watches one of them are you then associating with them and should we question your content? Way too much is being made of all this IMO.

If what you said is true… then I would be wary. I will repent and admit I jumped on the ban wagon about blocking The Chosen and I never got passed episode 03 of Season 01 but I admit… it was VERY cringy that episode I mean and of course the usual making Jesus a sissy not meek and there is a difference and the controversy came out. I even tried to tell a brother to stop watching even post on other people’s Instagram and stuff to tell them they are wrong to watch it and follow it.. but now.. I am ashamed. We are brothers and sister at the end of the day and also we are always going to have different views and not like the same things or have the same theology but at the end of the day… let’s just learn to still love another and just agree to disagree and try not to hate on anyone.

I've watched several of your videos and I have agreed with everything I've heard you say. I agree with your two points of caution in this video. But I don't understand why you said the Chosen quote is not based on Mormon teaching . It clearly does not come from God's Word but it clearly does come from the Book of Mormon. It doesn't matter what Dallas says, he is heavily influenced by Mormon teaching. As a teacher of God's Word for 40 years, including a short time at the seminary level, I have studied and taught Mormon doctrine. I recognize Mormon teaching in The Chosen. Dallas depicts Jesus from both the Bible and the Book of Mormon. I stopped watching the show.

Mormons don’t have the same Jesus. If they did they wouldn’t be Mormons. They’re works based. The fact that Dallas Jenkins has Mormon friends working on the film is a BIG concern. People need to look at Adam’s Road and hear his testimony about coming to faith in Jesus alone to see how works based the Mormon Church is. He and eventually his whole family came out of Mormonism.
