Atlanta spa shootings: Police release 911 emergency calls reporting one of the shootings

The Atlanta Police Department on Wednesday released audio recordings from two 911 emergency phone calls made the day before to report one of the shootings at Atlanta-area day spas that left eight people dead.

The first call, lasting less than two minutes, was from a woman calling from inside the Aromatherapy spa who said she was hiding from a burglar.

"Where is the person who is robbing the spa? Where is he right now?, the dispatcher is heard in the first call, made at 5:47 local time, according to the Atlanta police.

"I don't know. I'm hiding right now," the caller is heard saying.

Another call from 10 minutes later ran over four minutes and was made by a female who said her name was Nina and that she was on her way to the same spa where friends there had told her a shooting had occurred.

In the call, Nina can be heard telling the emergency dispatch operator that everyone was hiding behind desks and that a woman was "passed out" near the front door of the spa.

Robert Aaron Long, 21, of Woodstock, Georgia was arrested on Tuesday night for the shootings and was charged with eight counts of murder and one count of aggravated assault, according to law enforcement officials in Atlanta and Cherokee County, about 40 miles (64 km) north of the state capital. Long was being held in Cherokee County.

Authorities said on Wednesday that Long indicated he had sexual addiction issues and may have not been motivated by racial hatred.

Caller: "Never mind, it resolved itself, everyone has been shot while you ask questions."

When the caller doesn’t speak English fluently, it’s likely that the caller doesn’t understand what you are saying completely. So, speak clearly and slower than your usual mumbling machine gun speed.
Oh, and people like us whose mother tongue is not English can also hear your frustration and rudeness between lines.

If the victim was trying to hide, the criminal may hear her voice and and attack her, it's best to be silence, all she needed to tell the operator was, he has a gun, and give them the address.

She gave to the operator the address already but the operator was continuing asking her questions.She was HIDING, why the operator was asking SO many questions!

There's no right or wrong way to react in such a situation, specially when you don't know what's going on and you're trying to protect youraelf. It's heart breaking to know we've forgotten the humanity within us.

Why is the operator using such complicated words when she knows the caller cannot speak English well, especially with using the word male or female and the word description. Use the word man or woman, that is something everyone can understand and instead of saying description, use the word what does the person look like and maybe give some examples like does he have long hair or short hair or very tall or short and etc.

Is it supposed to be a caller’s job? Checking on the suspect? Callers’ job is just giving an operator the address that leos need to be dispatched and why. She performed her job extremely horribly. 😢
