Before I bought myself a ball-winder, I did this with a paper towel tube! Took ages, but it worked. :-)

I have the plastic one and I love it. I also have a yarn ball winder, but I use this one when I want to make a smaller ball or don’t feel like attaching my wonder to a table and just want to wind a small ball quickly by hand.

Thoughtyou would like to know, your Nøstepinne was originally a tent stake that holds the tent into the ground. Works great though.
