Garden City High School Presents: Little Shop Of Horrors (2017)

Hi my name is Anthony Boccia and I played Seymour as a high school junior in my favorite musical ever. I hope to play him again.

As is expected, the show was much more exciting live than it is if you're only viewing it through the scope of this low quality video. There are points where the sound mixing seems a bit off, I'd like to think that everything was more audible in person. I wanted to record this more for sentimental value rather than viewing pleasure. And I may as well share that with all of you.

When getting ready for this show, I watched numerous videos Of Little Shop performances, so I thought HEY lemme add to the collection. If you can learn, be inspired or enjoy this video, that would be enough.

I love the part where Orin jumps on Seymour. It shows that they’re not scared to push the limits of acting and invading someone’s personal space. I LOVE IT

This is really good! The recording quality doesn't really matter with this level of performance. It's actually quite fun to listen to when doing homework. How awkward was It's Just The Gas during practice, because that was a lot of physical contact lol. Also, too bad they couldn't let you switch shirts at some point or something, cause man, those are some sweaty pits :)

Does anyone else feel it's weird that Audrey takes her bow after Seymour considering she is the secondary protagonist and he is the primary one? No negative connotations there, just an observation.

Anthony, you did a good job, but all other considerations to the side, I'm a purist: this is written to be a small show. All the supernumeraries just get in the way, often stealing focus and slowing the show down. I know that HS drama teachers love to cram as many kids onstage as they can (gotta sell those tickets!), but in this case it's a horrible mistake; they should have picked a different show. Anyway, best wishes to you in whatever you pursue!

I’m very big on this issue, I don’t think you can do hairspray without a large African American group, just as I don’t believe you can have an all white Rockettes in Little Shop. Not feeling it
