This is the first in a series of new 45-minute Webinars developed and hosted by ReasonIO. In this webinar, I introduce the participants to some of the basics of Aristotle's virtue ethics.

We focus specifically on the nature of virtue and vice, as found in Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics books 2-4. I also draw needed contrasts between Aristotle's conception of virtue and vice and some of the common uses and misuses of those terms in our present-day culture. Several virtues and vices (e.g. courage and temperance, and their opposed vices) were also discussed as examples. And, we finished up by taking about 20 minutes worth of questions and providing some answers to those.

Hey Prof. Sadler, if I wanted to read ancient greek texts in their original language, how would you start learning the language? I heard you once mention in you philosophical developments that you took a course in Greek. And also in the Better Than Food podcast you mentioned other languages like german, french and latin. So I was curious, if one was interested in learning those language for the sake of a better understanding of the material, where would one start. Thank you
