Kitchens and bathrooms have a lot of detail. They can take a lot longer to paint than a bedroom or living room.

As a Painter & Decorator myself with 5* reviews it does not take 5 days to paint a kitchen 😂😂🤦🏼‍♂️. And that’s at a profession level to with a diploma and as a qualified painter. What a joke.

I work on my own and I'm not the fastest painter out there, but I know it wouldn't take me 5 days to do that kitchen

Great advice and a very useful video. How about never even visiting the property in the first place? Get the client to send in a video of the area by Whatsapp and then use one of the pre-built estimates to build it and send it back to them instantly . It gets rid of a lot of tyre kickers and sets expectations for when you do go to seal the deal - and it saves an awful lot of time and money. Its super simple to use and it's free. You will find it if you are interested enough so I won't leave a link.

Day 1 Patch with quick dry, durabond etc,  sand all walls, spot prime, mask,
Day 2  Paint red walls with grey first, paint trim between dry times. Apply finish red color to walls

If you were alone and a little slow it would take you 4 days, my guys and I would sand, patch, prime and maybe do a first coat the first day, the next day we'd second coat it, put it all back together by lunch time. Cieling, walls, a couple of windows, a door, exterior side of some cabinets-$1500.- $1800.00.

Measurements, what, for one room? no measuring! a quick look at a bedroom will tell you, sand, patch, 21/2 gallons for complete priming, 1 gallon ceiling paint, 2 gallons walls, 1/2 gallon for trim and doors. bada boom. $ 500-$600. NEXT!

Painted a kitchen in one day 15 years ago utilizing tape, joint compound (on multiple drywall divots way worse than that), a coat of primer sealer, a coat of semi-gloss white and trimmed it in some off-white color that I don't recall...walls are still beautiful and continue to endure kitchen environment. This would mean that your method should last about 75 years?

Back to front with the colours I would have thought. Two coats for a darker colour. Three coats for lighter. And you CAN paint over the undercoat in the same day. Most undercoats are quite quick drying. Half an hour is probably enough on a warm day.
