Very first cruise in 27 days. Terrified of being seasick because I have no prior experience to know if i will. I've packed it all...bonine, seabands, motioneaze oil, ginger capsules, ginger chews, ginger mint tea 🤣 Something is bound to work I hope

My cousin and her family were on a small boat excursion on vacation. Her young daughter got very nauseous. The guide had her sit down put a cool rag on the back of her neck and made her smell rubbing alcohol. Then gave her slices of green apple. She got better quickly. Try bringing rubbing alcohol pads to sniff when nausea first starts, along with green apple and ginger chews. I'm bringing them on my next cruise in June 2023.

My wife and I always use Bonnie. We take it at night. We also start taking it two days before cruise. We have never felt sea sick, even in rough seas. No drowsy side effects.

Acupuncture. Works wonders for my husband who could never cruise.

We use to use Bonine for our first and second cruise and then after that, we didn't need them anymore. We do keep bonine in our toiletry bag just in case of rough seas but even then it wasn't really necessary. Like you said, ships are really stable for the most part but I've encountered people where the slightest movement can cause discomfort. As always, great videos informing the cruising public of good options when going on a cruise. Thx Sheri, Happy Sailing!

We use a tip I got online. Take a half Dramamine at night it helps you fall asleep and if rough seas it is in your system already.

I suffer from sea sickness really bad and Meclizine has been working amazingly well paired with my Scopolamine transdermal prescription patch.

I start less drowsy Dramamine the night before my cruise and take each night of the cruise. I just do it to make certain that I don’t have issues. So far that has worked for me. I have never had motion sickness. Being sick is absolutely not in my cruise planner. My tip is the Equate or Dollar General brand of Dramamine works just fine.

I’m digging out my sea bands right now to have on hand for my next chemo! I never thought of them. Have been using crystallized ginger. Thankfully nausea hasn’t been bad so far. On a cruise, I usually use Meclazine and pop a ginger capsule when it’s rocky. ~Joan

Gin gins and sea bands work well for me. Also don't let your stomach get too empty.

I always bring ginger lollies and ginger/lemon teabags and either drink cold or hot, plus getting plenty of fresh air, green apples are good as well

Great tips for minimizing the effects of the motion in the ocean. If I notice fresh ginger slices in the Asian breakfast area of the buffet, I will have some daily in the morning whether I am feeling seasick or not. I add some of the slices into a cup of tea and enjoy it that way. Also, on my last cruise with NCL, the staff put out ginger tea bags in the buffet area when the ship was being tossed. The ships may have ginger tea bags available in the restaurants as well. It's very easy to ask for! Smooth sailing y'all!

I ordered a pound of ginger chews off of Amazon. I also use the Patch that goes behind the ear. I always bring Children Dramamine for my nephew when he travels with me.

KEEPING COOL! I am very susceptible to motion sickness, and this advice has changed my life. I know it's sort of covered in the video under 'getting fresh air' but I find that can lead to some misunderstanding. On a warm holiday - I make sure that I start the day cool, wear cooling clothing, wet hair/back of neck regularly, and avoiding rushing (especially when carrying bags).
I would certainly recommend the other treatments, but cutting down on drowsy remedies has made my experience so much better.

Bonine at night, ginger ale at meals & bands only if seas are really rough works for us!

Hi Sheree,
Love your channel so helpful and a true buddy during those depressing COVID years! I used to suffer terribly from motion sickness but I was determined to still cruise. Tried the bands, drugs provided by doctor….. however, the most effective, and not drowsy, are the Travacalm tablets. White packet, blue writing (other colours don’t work for me). I religiously take two tablets each day of the cruise, even on a six week cruise! No problems. These are over the counter and in Australia there are ten tablets per box.If it is particularly rocky, I’ll always head for the deck and get some fresh air, whatever the weather. I hope we’ll meet you guys one day on a sea adventure. There is no better way to holiday . Thanks for your entertaining and informative vlogs.😎

I went on a cruise when I was 16 and had zero motion sickness.

On a recent a trip to Hawaii though, granted much smaller boats, I got really upset.

I’m going on an Alaskan cruise soon and now I’m afraid I’ll get motion sickness 😂.

For me I think the mental part plays a role.
