I just dug up some of my first GarageBand files from 2010… I also still have copies of recordings/demos I made from 2001! Quite a treat to listen to those again. Now if only I can find the handwritten lyrics and chords to a few songs I wrote that I haven’t ever recorded before…

This’s like you read my mind. Now I’m comparing cloud storages. I don’t ever think about backing up stuffs until my iPhone surprisingly warn of ‘Storage Almost Full’ even i rarely take photos & videos 🤣

For backup storage i like microSD cards. you can buy a 1TB card at a reasonable price nowadays which is more then enough to backup all files. and because microSD cards have no moving parts they are easier to store and less likely to break. i have am sd card case that holds 6 of them. 6TB of backup storage in a credit card sized case.

A file isn’t backed up unless it exists on 3 drives with one of these drives being in a separate location. Fires, floods and thieves take all your equipment. While failures and mistakes destroy files and sometimes backup those errors.
