I debunked weird Cars 4 announcement claims WAY long ago, so this one felt like a full circle moment ;)

Agreed. Announcing these movies too early just makes audiences extremely disappointed if it gets cancelled before they even start writing it.

I personally think that studios should take one of two approaches.

1. If you're studio that's creating a cinematic/connected universe like the MCU, Skywalker Saga, DCEU, and the soon to be launched DCU, you should only announce phase 1 projects and then once phase 1 ends, you announce phase 2 projects and so on and so forth.

2. If you're a studio that's creating a or multiple cinematic/connected franchises like Disney Studios/Animation, Pixar, DreamWorks and Illumination, you should only announce one film at a time for each franchise as that will allow time for each film to be conceived with care and precision, as well as create wiggle room for unforseen delays and/or for one off projects to be conceived with equal care and precision.

And paddington 4.
And sonic 4.
It actually is more annoying when the movies are announced for a specific day, but then pushed back more, and more, and more, until we have no idea what they’re even doing with the movie anymore….

I'm actually sad for finding out that season 3 and 4 from Hazbin Hotel are in production, when not even the second season has came out yet

Wait until you know you're gonna make the movie and announce it like half a year before it comes out. That leaves enough time to build up excitement but also isn't too long to bore people

i feel like if they announce it too early, we are all just going to forget about it, so they should just announce it a little later

I think avengers 6 is kinda important to do early tho. Marvel releases them because they know the fan speculation is what gets money

Yeah, they should announce project around 2-1 years before release

I would prefer these to be like a smash bros reveal. Sprinkle in little hints about the movie before revealing the main subject

Mind you, Illumination (probably, anyway...) parodied the Marvel timelines for Despicable Me 4. Basically just a bunch of movies about the Mega Minions.

Same with Wicked, i only heard it was gonna be a thing when the Super Bowl trailer came out and when it was like "This Thanksgiving" it made the wait way better

They need to stop announcing stuff in general too early. Transformers Reactivate was revealed 2 years ago, and we haven't heard anything from it as of late.

I agree… except if Nickelodeon wants to make any more rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles content, in that case I’d want every single detail as soon as possible (I’ve been rallying for the show to come back for years now)

Honestly fully agree. Announcing movies 3-4 years in advanced like u said takes the mystery and speculation out of it. For example as soon as Inside out 2 got released it felt like for a couple weeks people were just talking about how Inside out 3 could go even tho it hasn’t been confirmed. Studios should really only announce there movies like 6-7 months in advance. Enough to build-up hype but not to much to bore

The movie industry in Thailand literally announces movies like a few weeks before release, including foreign films that would only be advertised by the copyright owner few weeks before showing. Only very few high production movies get a year early announcement.

Bro got mad mad💀, but tbf for a big studio don't say it unless it's like this or next year, but for a smaller company thats a great way to increase the chances of more people hearing about it, it depends on the situation really, as does most things I've noticed
