My mom was pregnant with me and watched the ceremonial start to the very first Iditarod Race in 1973, so I was there. I was born in Anchorage two months later. That dog statue you saw on 4th street in downtown Anchorage is the marker for the ceremonial start of the race. Love the Alaska videos so far and seeing the experiences through your enthusiasm.
