Sony A5000 VS. Canon M10 I Want Your Opinion!!!

I would go the other way and choose the Canon EOS M10. I was also in the same predicament last month. Bought the m10. My reason being is the touch screen. The Sony a5000 does not have touch screen and being so used to using a smartphone I find that changing shutter speed or aperture levels on the fly is more cumbersome with the A5000 (you have to push several buttons) whereas in the M10 you can just touch the screen and adjust it there just like a smartphone (or you can use buttons if you still prefer that). Also because of its touchscreen nature, you can also touch the screen to focus just like a smartphone too just in case the camera is focusing on something that you are not intending. Much harder to do in the Sony as the lack of touchscreen does not give you that ability to select focus. Although the Sony has the better battery life (400+ shots to the Canons 200+). But I chose ease of use over battery life. Another reason why I chose the Canon was it had a higher resolution screen. Given that both cameras have no viewfinders I feel a higher res screen gives me a better judgement of the quality of photo that I just took.

Eos m10 is better for vlogging, the a5000 shuts off after around 20mins of video recording to cooldown and will operate again once cool enough. For general photography, either will do fine

Take a look at the video from DaxM the sound quality from the canon is a LOT better than the sony's in my opinion..

Canon has only 24fps on 1080p
