Yemen’s military has sent more troops to the northern province of Amran.

Tensions have increased over the last few days after clashes between the army and Houthi fighters.

Although both sides say they are committed to peace, a government-backed truce in February appears to be jeopardy.

The army says Houthi fighters attacked a military checkpoint bringing into question the fragile truce between the Shia armed group and Sunni tribesmen.

But soldiers say their role, so far, is to maintain peace.

Al Jazeera's Osama Bin Javaid reports.
