NEW Enve Custom Road bike First Look | US-made custom carbon race bike

Earlier this year Enve launched its first ever road bike, the Custom Road, and while it's currently only available in the US, one has snuck its way to the UK and I was given very exclusive access to take a first look.

Clean looking bike. Elegant. Not ugly and aggressive like the Dogma. Not pretentious like a Colnago. Hand made in the USA. Custom fit and geo. Unlimited styling and color ways. Made by a leader in carbon. Pricey frameset at $7k USD but you’re getting max craftsmanship vs. a mass produced $6k Italian but really Taiwanese frameset.

Bright future for Enve. Now they just need to introduce a $4k frameset.

You look in pain at not being allowed to ride it..and I don't blame you.I did have a blast on a friends Argonaut which has a similar hand built custom approach and it was amazing. This Enve bike looks right up there and may be the most appropriately named bicycle ever.

If I had the cash, this would definitely be on my short list of superbikes. Semi-customized geometry, my own pain scheme, Enve wheelset, and the $1000 travel bag...it's actual a good deal compared to competitors (all things be relative when typing "deal").

Is it a pre-preg construction technique? I would sit up and take note if a manufacturer were to use RTM.

I wonder if Luescher will ever get the opportunity to cut open the Enve so we can see what it looks like on the inside.

Oh for Gods sake I was hanging on for the part where you appraised it. I couldn't wait if owned it I would have been standing there too. However since I hold you and your opinion in high regard I would have let you ride it with me shot gunning beside you!

it's a great-looking bike. For a full Dura-Ace fairly lightweight build it's in the ballpark cost-wise, even thought the price of the frame itself is pretty eye-watering. At least it's made in USA, which I guess is the point. Maybe you could buy the owner a few drinks, then a few more, until he relents and lets you ride it.

$12k for a custom fully decked out bike vs 12-14k from Specialized etcetera? I would take Enve in a heartbeat.

Owner won't let you ride it? So lame. It's a plastic bike. If he has one of the first one's obviously money is not a problem for him/ her. Geez.
