2021 Order of the Red Triangle

Each year, the YMCA of South Hampton Roads recognizes a volunteer who has made an outstanding and lasting impact on our community through their service to the Y, and inducts that volunteer into the Order of the Red Triangle—our highest honor.

Resolution:
WHEREAS, she has demonstrated a history of unselfish
commitment to the growth and development of the YMCA of
South Hampton Roads, and

WHEREAS, she has served the children, adults, and families of
our community with great integrity and passion through the
YMCA for over twelve years, and

WHEREAS, she has served as a member of the Finance
Committee of the YMCA Board, and

WHEREAS, she continued her service to the Y by joining the
Corporate Board of Directors in 2010 and has chaired the Audit
Committee, meticulously providing leadership for the integrity and
transparency of YMCA financials, and

WHEREAS, she has provided courageous insight, analysis, and
direction to leadership of our YMCA, always making herself
available to share her knowledge and expertise, and

WHEREAS, she has served as an Officer of the Corporate Board
for the past two years, as the Treasurer of the Board of Directors
for the YMCA of South Hampton Roads,

NOW
THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED that Kathy Abshire is hereby awarded the
2021 Recipient of the Order of the Red Triangle.

We are honored and so grateful that Kathy has given freely of her time to help make the Y sustainable in our community. Please join us in congratulating Kathy on this monumental
achievement.
