LITERALLY what I was hoping we would see from the big brands when smart watches first launched. I don't want a crappy phone on my wrist, I want a WATCH that can also add a couple useful features to my phone. I already have the phone, and I don't need ALL of that same stuff on my wrist - rather just a handful of things that are just logical choices for convenience.

Definitely need to check these out, I haven't taken the market seriously in a while

Love how they made smart watches look like normal watches. Classic watch design with a twist instead of wanting to reinvent the wristwatch

Linus: "Cool state like Nebraska"
Brandon: "Haha, Nebraska?"

I can affirm Linus, all of our corn and cows are pretty cool.

Either LTT or Shortcircuit but I would love to see a showdown of a bunch of different hybrid smartwatches. I know of 3 brands doing them, maybe there are more but it would be really nice to see. From what I know it would be between Garmin, Withings and Fossil and of course not sponsored by any of them to get proper reviews.

I used to use Pebble but those of course are not made anymore and I hate all new normal smart watches and their one maybe two day battery life so would really like to see the pros and cons of all the different hybrid watches to see what ones are the best. Personally using a Fossil hybrid now but am considering a withings or garmin as my next to get a bit more "smart" features and also the fossil app feels a bit clunky, connectivity/syncing is rough at times. Still like my watch in a world of black square watches that don't hardly function as watches I get many compliments on my watch while still getting notification info, music control and step counts.

Been using Withings myself for a couple of years now, and beside the health infos and typical workout montioring was for me the battery life. With many things active and background monitoring, a good battery life span is around 1-2 weeks. If you turn most off or only the defaults, then yes 1 month is pretty easy to get.
Love the horizon, will be my next.

One thing i always say when complaining about the current state of smart watches is: I want a 'smart watch' not a dumb phone

I have a Withings Scanwatch for almost a year now and it's crazy to think that I only have charged it 10 times. The "normal" scanwatch isn't more expensive than others well known models from Apple or Samsung and the rounded design is actually very comfortable to wear all day. They also have a cheaper model without the screen which can also monitor ECG for those who don't need the notifications and small infos

I actually bought this watch recently after i developed more serious issues with my heart on top of the issues i already have. I'm 28 and I was born with a rare heart defect that basically left me with half of a heart, and another defect that affected blood flow to my lungs to pick up oxygen. So having a medically validated ECG and oximeter on my wrist while disguised as a normal watch was pretty much what i was looking for. My biggest criticism is that the heart rate gets confused if you are doing any sort of weight lifting which is super minor but if that matters to you, might be a deal breaker. Cardio was pretty decent though. (yeah i know dude with heart issues weight lifting? i got the ok from my cardiologist with reasonable weight restrictions)

I'm actually going to get one of these watches here in the UK. One of the main selling points for me is that the constant health monitoring of HR, ECG, and spO2 can be downloaded as a file. This enables me to provide it to my doctor if I see irregularities.

I have loved my scanwatch for nearly a year now. Withings are amazing. Sleep sensor that sits under the bed, blood pressure with ecg and digital stethoscope, and a temperature recorder. They're amazing, and it's hard to think I could ever go back.

my mom got a samsung phone and a galaxy watch, exclusively because she has heart problems and wanted to use the ECG. shes a nurse and saw a couple of people walk in with a watch saying "hey this thing is beeping and tells me im dying, please check me out" and it actually saved their lives.
Cool to see that watches like this are an option, because she definetly does not use most of the other features of the watch and is annoyed with the battery life.

I've had my Scanwatch for some time now and I love it. What's impressed me the most is they are incredibly robust. I have a habit of destroying watches but the sapphire glass, water resistance and high quality construction has kept it not only working but still looking great. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it.

Have had my scan watch for 7 months now. I love it. Battery life is A+, lasting more than a week on a single charge. The ECG function actually helped me recognize an arrhythmia, which got fixed earlier this year as a result.

Can positively say that having the scan watch was instrumental in significantly improving my quality of life. Really solid product.

i envy people who can wear metal bands watches, every time i try one on the hair on my wirst get stuck and pulled and it's super annoying, for me it's the leather really. and i couldn't agree more on the fact that i want a smart watch, not a small smart device that happens to have a watch app.

i have been using a a scan watch for almost a year. had to order internationally because it was not available in the us for a long time while the FDA (i think) cleared it. love the battery life and thats what really pushed me to get it. one note, i have the 42mm black and silver and the hands do glow in the dark, don't know if the other colors or the smaller 38mm ones do though.

I literally requested this video two weeks ago on the forum... and Withings did a sponsoring right now. What a nice timing.

I also use this watch for around three months now and I am really happy about it. Best tech-product since a very long time. It does exactly what you want and nothing more.

Pretty funny that he wasn’t allowed to say “Apple Watch” or “Apple”

That's a damn nice watch. I don't wear one anymore, but if I did this would be the one for me to get. Classic look with all the features I could want.
