Doctors defy Mamata Banerjee’s ultimatum, continues protest

West Bengal protesting doctors have refused to call off the strike despite Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee giving an ultimatum and instead accused the CM of threatening them. Earlier, Mamata Banerjee asked the doctors to stop the strike or vacate the hostels. “The government will not support them in any way. I condemn doctors who have gone on strike. Policemen die in line of duty but the police don't go on a strike,” she said.
