I know this is just a cartoon and thus not anchored in reality, but the thing is that a school (especially not a principal) cannot diagnose a child with ADHD, nor tell a parent that their kid needs to be medicated. Parents also have the right to refuse medication for their kids. Source: I am a teacher and had this happen to me - parents refused to medicate me, and honestly I didn’t need it. I had no formal diagnosis. I may be ADHD, but I was fine without meds.

I ended up getting a type of medication for my Autism and ADHD but after just one week the stuff instantly had negative effects on my mind. Instead of calling me down, it turned me into an incredibly explosive and aggressive person.

I got out of school twice, ran away from home several times, punched teachers, destroyed the school in a bunch of different ways and was overall out of control. This went on for several months until, not sure what to do with me, the school suspended me putting down the excuse that I was mentally unstable until finally I came off the medication and that started my 6 month return to normal.
