Gaming publishers get the brunt of public hate or mockery when they fudge something up, gaming studios get bought up and shutdown when projects do well or fail, individual devs attack or get attacked on social media, and the continual performance issues of modern games have created a large Youtube ecosystem around discussing and mocking them.

I’m going to play devils advocate here Matthew, by and large these ideological and propaganda based titles almost always fail. Gamers have rejected them since GamerGate, even the Batman game mentioned in the full segment was a massive flop. Gamers have been wise to the woke nonsense before almost anyone else and some of the biggest names in the fight against it got started in GamerGate, Sargon of Akkad, Milo to name a few. They thought they’d be an easy target but gotta hand it to those sweaty nerds they didn’t go quietly.

How can something be so massive yet operate in secret? It doesn't.

Once you're participating in the industry, game studios are discussed, celebrated and criticised FAR more than movie studios ever have been.

Studios like Naughty Dog, Bungy, Bethesda are discussed at a much more nuanced level then, say, A24, Paramount or Searchlight.
