300 million for one America a country with no state health care, massive poverty, cuts to veterans etc...This has absolutely nothing to do with defending the USA but absolutely everything to do with keeping Arms makers happy....

I sure don't remember Cuomo questioning so many things about Biden's four years...

Chris, I have only one word for you after listening to your rant; CHINA. They already have two fifth gen fighters, the J-20 and J-35 and they are huge threats to our f-22 and f-35s. As much as I hate to see this money being spent, I believe we absolutely need to stay ahead of them. Not everything is about silly internal American politics. National defense is not a joke.

Well Chris, if you really want to "save money" stop sending it to Israel.

It's absolutely worth it on paper if the US wants to continue to assert air dominance over its adversaries. Now will it be worth it in the end when all is said and done? Who knows? We know how these projects can be subject to cost overruns, delays and the end product not meeting the requirements of what was initially envisioned but we have yet to get there to assess those things.

Peace through strength Chrissy. Deterrence only happens when you’re stronger than the adversary.

Chris talks about all the “unnecessary” money making defense contractors rich but leaves out the wasted money on Wind Turbines resulting in inefficient and intermittent energy making those “Green” contractors rich.

I thought Coumo was actually coming around to being a reasonable common sense sort of guy, but NAH, Fredo's back.

Nothing to do with F-35. It's about replacing the F-22 as the top air superiority jet fighter. Its development started in the 80s and it was so over the top (cost and no business case, fortunately) most purchases were canned. Not a bad idea to initiate a new build at this point. And without the calamity of making compromises to squeeze in features for Marines and Navy as well, like the F-35, which taught everyone how to not run a project.

Protecting 300 million people is expensive, developing new weapons that can do that usually are. But you lose me when you say it can be used here or there for this or that. Nothing this man does will be right in your eyes.

This is nothing to hate on. That actually sounds good.

I don't understand the rant ? the United States will always have to be at the cutting edge militarily in order to pose as a credible threat to rogue states, however, that being said I think the newly US administration should have waited with their backstabbing of its european allied before signing the contract as there would have been more countries tro cover the cost of development, because as it is right now, and probably in a foreseeable future as well, the european countries will likely spend the majority of their defence budgets on european defence contractors in order to reignite the european defence industry which been dormant because we have relied (too much perhaps ?) on the United States for protection, so this might mean that the entire bill for this new flying wunder waffe will end at the american taxpayer who can barely afford to purchase eggs !

Chris, can you please stop being pessimistic about EVERYTHING that has to do with the new administration? Too much negativity. Look back at the last four years and make a comparison. Four years of Biden, compared to TWO MONTHS of Trump administration.

Should've just build AI drone as wingman for F-35 instead
