Consecration Mass of Consecrated Virgins Living in the World

For the first time in the history of the Diocese of Phoenix, Bishop Olmsted will consecrate two women to the Ordo virginum, as consecrated virgins living in the world. The Mass of Consecration for Kimberly Zeeman (from Blessed Sacrament Parish, Scottsdale) and Claire Halbur (from St. Mary Magdalene Parish, Gilbert) will be streamed live on Facebook and YouTube at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 22, the Feast of the Queenship of Mary.

Claire, I watched you on Sisterhood: Becoming Nuns back when I was discerning religious life. Now, I am in the early stages of formation for consecrated virginity and will be meeting with the Bishop February 17! How long was your formation period? What did it look like?

Im 23 years old in South Texas living with my elderly parents. I vowed to God when I was little that I would be consecrated to Him, but my local Bishop says I must wait until I am 30. Nowhere does it say I must be that age to say my vows. I would like to be a consecrated virgin and a diocesan recluse. Please of you have any advice or know of any Bishop who would let me say my vows, I would be immensely grateful. God bless.
