Nord Electro 5 – coming to a worship service near you!

Chris Martirano, with Nord, showed us the new Electro 5. The excitement at the Nord booth was obvious as keyboard fans got their hands on the new Nord Electro 5! It looks to be prime for live performance, with split points and layering capabilities for building up complex sound patches. We were excited to see the large OLED screen, which should make the Nord Electro 5 easy to navigate and program.

Nord Electro 5 Features:

Stage piano/synthesizer
Drawbars for hands-on organ performances
1GB memory for Nord Piano Library, 256MB for Nord Sample Library
Split points for creating complex multi-sound patches
Separate delay and reverb effects

I never said it had 6 split points! I can split once, OR layer once! Honestly, only the Nord Stage models offer 6 splits or layers. Where did they get that info? Not from me!!

I'd buy it if it had a decent color and a decent memory that holds all pianos from Nord including the future ones. My Tyros4 already holds 1GB of sample memory with eight velocity layers. But still it sounds great and I really like the pipe organ addition.

Nice sounds and features. But be advised that the pipe organ section doesn't sound much different than a drawbar organ. Not like pipe organ sounds, in case that is important in your worship.
