A powerful message to the society.I was a victim of societal discrimination on a girl child.I was born in a family with 1 boy and 5 girls and was the last daughter of the family. When I was born my father expected to have a boy and alas came me a daughter he never wanted because he had enough.H e never cared if I went to school or not.My mother toiled to see me through primary. My only brother saw the potential in me and took me through secondary.I got married before tertiary education and my husband took me through tertiary education. Now I am an auditor and the breadwinner of the family because my only brother died leaving behind 4 children and my parents. My father now knows the importance of a girl child through me and what I am doing for the family.Imagine if I was not educated how were they going to fair now that they are old.I build for them a 5 roomed house and furnished it, a tiled toilet and a bore hole at our rural home where they stay.I look after them and my brothers orphans and all praise to my late brother who saw the light in me!May God bless you Mai Charamba for such a powerful song.
I was blessed with 5 boys and my boys they do all the house chores from cleaning the house, cooking and they do their laundry even though I have a house helper. I also tell them that there is no work that is meant for girls and that women are not slaves of the house.I also teach them to respect women to include their future wives and daughters.

Our mothers were victims of this belief that a girl child was useless only meant for marriages even some families are still victims coz men leaves their wives in search of a male child . Thanks mama for stretching out such issues .
You are God sent to comfort us

Advocating for the girl child, gender equality will make our society a better place, charity begins at home both sexes shld be treated equally those values and norms will be assimilated within other ecosystems that surrounds the children such as schools, churches and will also be adopted in the workplaces as they grow older, powerful mama kwa Gutu we support you....ma inlaws mukaona mwana wenyu achiita basa basa mumba musati akadyiswa or ari kubatsira mkadzi wake basa...no ari kubatsira basa pamba pake.
