Viofo A119 V3 Dash Cam Installation - 2020 Mazda CX-5

I want to thank you for your excellent video explaining how to install the Viofo A119 V3 dashcam. I'm a newbie to dashcams and recently bought this model on a flash sale from Amazon, and I was not very confident in my ability to install it. After watching your video and seeing how you neatly embedded the power cable, I was able to cleanly install the dash cam into our Honda CRV, and its working perfectly! Your video, more than many others I looked at, was the most useful and informative for getting the job done. My wife was even amazed at how clean and low-key it looked after the install. Really appreciate the time you took creating the video!

Thank you for this guide. I’ve installed my dashcam with success, but I use the center console for the usb power and have the cable tucked along underneath the seat frame.

I also find it difficult to put the cable in the small section between windshield and A pillar, so my cable is still sticking outside, but I guess I can live with that.

Smart! I’ve done pretty much the same thing like you shown in the video. The only difference is that I ran the usb cable (mazda3, 2019) through the right side of driver seat, then sneak it back in through the rear of the arm rest storage box coz the socket is hidden inside. No need to hardwire, not touching the fuse box or disconnect the battery.

One thing you could do instead of running the wire around to the cigarette lighter is to run the wiring into the fuse box located near the driver's left leg. You would use a fuse adapter to connect it.

Oh no, don't run the cable like that on the A pillar. The A pillar has a curtain airbag. I have a mazda 3 2021. I ran the cable on the A pillar but i opened the panel and run it behind the curtain airbag. If you run it over the Curtain airbag, the cable and the camera will hit you like a bullet if the airbag is deployed. That's a disaster waiting to happen!

You should have located the GPS mount about 3" higher for a stealthier installation.

Hey mate just a question, does the CX-5 have air bag in that first joint area where you pushed the cable in, I think it's called the A pillar. And if it does did you have to disconnect the air bag fuse before you pushed the cable in ?

I'm unable to insert the viofo cigarette lighter adapter into the port. How did you insert the adapter? Please help.

I noticed you plugged it into the cigarette lighter. Does it drain the battery when the car is turned off? I have the 2019 CX-5.

i bought one but my memory card hasn't arrived yet, so I tried installing it without memory card yesterday, mounted it. But then it wouldn't turn on, I am wondering if my unit is faulty or does it not turn on if you don't have a memory card?
