Perfect little gadget to convert my old TiVo composite video outputs to an HDMI signal to my 1080p HDTV. Picture output compared to a true HDMI output from a DVD player is fantastic! The audio has a fairly significant loss in audio volume and crispness, however considering you are converting an analog signal to digital I can accept the trade off...especially for legacy devices with no other way to view other than composite output. The images to me were nearly identical. Easy setup but only works if you have a 5 volt USB power source nearby. The listing says that it is a charging cable but it isn't..there is no rechargable battery in the device. It is a power cable. Great to have around when you need to convert old VCR tapes into a digital signal. Please watch my video for a full review!

Thanks for the video. When I click on the Amazon link to purchase it has a diagram that shows no composite to HDMI? Only HDMI to composite? I am wanting to convert my parents VCR output composite to HDMI in their new television. Thanks!

Hi, we sometimes hook my laptop up to our tv to watch something from the laptop on our bigger tv screen. To do this I run a cord with an HDMI plug at each end OUT from laptop to IN HDMI on back of tv. Our tv has both HDMI and the yellow, red, white cords ability. So what I would really like to be able to do is... instead of just watching stuff from my computer on the tv, is record certain things we watch on to vhs to save. Would this gadget allow me to plug HDMI from laptop to HDMI IN on the gadget, and then use the yellow, red, white cords as OUT to the IN on our Vcr... and of course to see on tv would use cords out from Vcr to the in on tv.
Am hoping then while watching something on the laptop we could be recording on to vhs. I know most people want to get away from using vcrs, but I have pictures & videos on my laptop, that if I was to put on a vhs tape I could make a dvd-r of for any family member using the vhs as my master. And I do not want to use my laptop to save a bunch of files, prefer to unload to vhs if can. Thank you for your time & info! Mary

The only problem I have with this device is that it seems to only record in black and white.

i have this converter also. but if i connect it to my hdmi on my lg c8 oled. it will nothing connects. how can i fix it?
