For me 90 percent of Vivo pics look better. Who wants to see that flat pics without contrast of Samsung pics?

I like Samsungs natural look. I don't like the old Samsung that has the saturated look kinda like what vivo has now. I'm glad they toned it down and make the photos look more realistic.

A couple of firmware updates on the X100 Ultra, and it will easily dominate the flagship market. How many updates has the S24 Ultra or even the X100 Pro had already since their release ? Nobody ever talks about that fact...

I am hear to say again - Chinese phones have caught up a lot. Apple has its own niche (which is debatable) but samsung if it continues to cost cut and not compete it will perish like HTC

I'm a samsung user! But Samsung is a big loser in comparison of its chinese counterpart

Even The VivoX100Pro is good enough to stand tall against the S24Ultra.

Though Vivo X100 ultra is a flagship phone but still it is a camera centric device that was made by vivo. On the other hand S24 ultra is a overall flagship quality phone

Both have excellent cameras. I got the x100 ultra just because I`ve been using samsung phones for years. So I needed this change

Low light, portrait, camera app features, Vivo blows Samsung away. If you're into photography it's an easy choice.

S24U just couldn't pull it off this year. The S24U felt kinda like S 23.1.1 U this year tbh. It's barely an upgrade. Focusing on many unnecessary 'AI' features, they forgot the reason they were the one and only direct rival to apple. Still, not too late to catch up samy. Otherwise all it'd take vivo is to polish it's UI a bit and boom.

On my Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra I set the Smart Optimization option to "Medium". I recommend you to avoid the "Maximum" setting, because it processes the photos way too much and makes them look like pastel paintings. :) Along with that, the battery wears out faster with the "Maximum" setting and gets much hotter. The most natural photos are obtained at the "Minimum" setting, but then in lower light it produces too much noise. Therefore, I recommend shooting in bright light with the "Minimum" or "Medium" setting, and at dusk with the "Medium" setting, though sometimes at extreme darkness you may want to switch to "Maximum".

I also downloaded the "Camera assistant" app where I set "Picture softening" to "High". Then the photos are as natural as possible and close to what is standard for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. If it is set to "Medium", it takes 1 second more for additional processing and the photos are only slightly sharpened, but still natural. However, I don't recommend shooting with the "Off" setting, because then the photos are unpleasantly out of focus and all objects have white outlines. This is especially noticeable when shooting tree branches, fences, street poles, text on paper etc. :)

In summary, here are my recommended settings for the best balance between detail and natural looking photos:
"Smart Optimization" to be set to "Medium".
From the Camera assistant app, set the "Picture softening" to "Medium".
