To sum it up, hard wheels are better for doing tricks, power slides, but the downside is its going to be a ruff ride. Soft wheels can be used for sliding but it will be a lot harder but they will help you move around ruff areas. The higher the number the harder and the lower the softer

Ha, that is exactly what i do. Riding soft wheels to the skatepark and then switch with the hard wheel to do my session with tricks. I wonder why i never saw someone else doing so. Works great. :-)

Slimeballs 97a and mini logo 95a wheels are the best for both worlds in my opinion 💕

I’ve always went 99 or 101a. I’m pretty lazy so I like sliding some of my 180 tricks. Plus power slides are nice

I'm riding ricta clouds 92a for a good amount of time and for me they are the perfect hybrid.

Im trying out my first pair of soft wheels and I can actually ollie easier to my surprise. It also a brand new board so there may be other factors at play. I mostly skate rougher terrain and not actual parks, so it may have to do with them being able to roll a lot more freely over the rough terrain. ollying is easier to me when its already rolling

i feel like its almost impossible to do a stationary trick on soft wheels because they don't want to stay still, they just wanna cruise.
i had some 55mm 97a wheels and that was perfect in betweener

Hard wheels are just an impossibility where I live. The streets are a disgrace.

still getting skate knowledge since im still getting back to it, i think that’s why my formula fours stop me from popping my board sometimes.

Soft wheels are more for wood ramps because of the increased friction whereas if you use harder wheels on a wood ramp like a steep half-pipe you will slide around too much and the board will probably slide out from underneath you and cause you to fall depending on how steep the ramp and how fast you are going, etc.

Hard wheels = Concrete Parks and Street Skating
Soft Wheels = Wood Ramps or Cruising.
