Great little video ! Found while researching stuff for my new home. Currently in the building phase, so stating to the buy the products. I’m getting mixed answers from people…

So basically starting out my plan is to run modem/router from ISP, to my new 16 lite switch POE from ubiquiti, then two 2-3 Ap’s, hardwired stuff and that’s pretty much it

I was told by some I need to keep my computer on for the switch to continue to work, I was told I didn’t need to?

From my understanding I could just log in to the PC software for ubiquiti, add the switch to the account, and configure there with no isssues.

In the future, there will be a key system or machine but just not ready for that level of networking. Please advise and discuss haha

Great video mate...it's the 1st I've seen by you but certainly won't be the last I enjoyed how you took your time too explain the different things & ways you can do thing's. I'm just starting out at home well I've knot actually started yet. I really need some advice before i can & you may of heard of an issue a lot of people are having. Basically i have the VM Super Hub 3 which is your modem/ router in one the router part of this isn't good so people are going into the software of the modem and turning it to modem only. Then there configuring the router side of this with their own router's so there actually getting the wifi strength their paying for I'm not that tech savy to do this even tho they say it's easy they don't explain. I desperately need to do this or maybe something different. Our 2 gaming son's have fled the nest now so it's just me & my wife she only ever uses her smart phone I'll use the same & a laptop that's it using the said network, i desperately want to install a security camera 📷 on my outside wall..if this network isn't strong enough to send wifi to it as i want to be able to view outside with it.
Could you please 🙏 advise or suggest the best & easiest way to be able to do this please sorry it's so long. I would gratefully appreciate any help advice you could give Thank you 👌👍

I bought a new home and it comes with a 12 port switch that connects to two access points.
The modem will connect a router that will connect to the switch.
What type of router should I buy? Does it matter if the router is able to provide high speed or long range, when at the end, it is the access points that will be giving out the wifi?
