Looks like it's a still from a short film. The name on wiki commons matches up with the directors name so, yeah probably not real

"1996"', a 2020 film by director Rodrigo Brandão, revisits the event in a horror story made along the lines of a documentary (in the style of The Blair Witch Project). The short was made in VHS and follows the trajectory of two teenagers who are going to the city of Varginha on 20 January 1996. They end up getting lost in the woods at night and are found by the ET. The short was well received and participated in several important festivals such as the 23rd Tiradentes Cinema Exhibition.

but where did this screenshot come from? The text below the video says that a 35 second recording is somewhere out there, but does that mean it's on the internet or it's being kept by someone? Back when this would have been filmed, people mostly used VHS to tape record video, perhaps the military had digital recording devices as they did exist, but were not widely used. The fact that a still frame from it is on the net suggests that perhaps a VHS recording was digitized and uploaded somewhere.

I just watched "1996" short film and the creature in that has different lighter skin colour and bright red eyes.
