Fully agree with you that the best way to recover the modelling Mojo is a nice simple kit. Great vid and discussion.

I found that spending time away from the bench with loved ones as well as shows gets my mojo back. But yes a simple build would most defiantly help :)

Mojo sense of humor are back. I, for one, am happy you're back Lewis, love your style of passing along tips and sharing knowledge.

I think for me there's nothing worse than a project that's not going as planned. Granted I'm an easily frustrated person, so I've had to try harder to keep myself focused on the work instead of simply giving up. But I find when I'm stuck and don't want to build anything anymore, the two biggest things that help me are: Time, and Plamo Tsukurou. If I just give myself time to recuperate from a build and come back with a more positive mind and attitude, or even giving enough time to solver whatever problem I had I'm much happier building.

Watching Plamo Tsukurou, I just get really inspired even after watching 5 minutes of an episode, and I just want to get back to the table and build! At times I've also found like you mentioned, just building a kit that's simple, yet really good. Like a Tamiya or Bandai. Something that I know is going to fit, and be an easier build.

I really enjoyed your thoughts and commentary on this. And it's nice to know that the pro's go through this as well :D

Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt! Good to see you back Coladito (Luis) :) Mojo is a funny intangible thing. What might affect some, might not affect others. There is an old saying "variety is the spice of life". I believe that saying has merit, and when in the dumps having a kit that screams out to you "pick me, pick me" might just as well be the ticket. But as you said, a quick, down and dirty kit, to me is always the ticket :) Great to have you back!

I lost my Mojo 15 years ago as I had great plans but couldn't achieve it, cause I didn't have the knowledge and the tools do do well.
Guys like you did bring me back to the hobby, I literally spent dozens of hours of watching YouTube before buying stuff I needed.
Now I'm finishing the HU-5 Weesex my girlfriends dad started before he passed away a decade ago...I absolutely love your channel

yeah! we all should find that one kit that we love to build for just fun, mine is a 68 Dodge Charger from Revell. Was the first it I built well and I still love it to this day

I found simple kits that require just basic skills to look ok are best to work up mojo. For some time Gawa's Egg planes worked for me. They can be built in 2-3 hours, Paint job is very simple and anything you put into them afterwards is just either trying out new things or having fun with it. Also i generally ignore suggested paint jobs on them and do whatever I like. Then you just give it to someone to not take up space :) I use them also after some particulary horrible kit to keep spirits up (last one was Trumpeter's 700 Wisconsin 1991)

Great vídeo man, I'm a scale car builder, but I like a little bit of everything, and when I lost my mojo I get a gundam kit and build it in maybe 2 to 3 hrs, and I'm ready to go after that, all the ideas, concept, colors come back really fast, I didn't know people do that, I just do it just because I funded fun LOL guess that how it work...

I am having that issue myself. I am finding so many other things to do. I cleaned my work space. Do this and that. But when I sit down to work on something I just sit there. I have entered a few Group Builds and I can't seem to get it together.

every model maker knows this problem ... you may not build anything for a while ... but the faction remains! greetings Luis!^^:)

I don't think I'd ever lose my Mojo if I was getting paid to do it for a career....making money is a great motivator. But, as that isn't the case for me, the last time I lost my mojo- last year for 6 months, I put together 7 easy 1/72 scale kits, as you suggested, and brush painted them so I didn't have to bother with all the airbrush set-up and cleaning...just dip a brush, paint and rinse off. That worked for me, then I built a run of 4 detailed 1/48 scale kits. I've lost my mojo again, just recently building my 1/24 scale Hawker Typhoon, but, I've had interruptions during the last few months: new roof put on the house, my nephew from the UK coming for 5 weeks, and now, for the last couple of weeks, we've had painting contractors working on the house...they'll be done by the end of this week, so hopefully, next week, without the distractions, I'll get back into it. Cheers : )

This is exactly what I do. I usually lose my Mojo due to a lack of time, I don't have more than 15 minutes to work on a kit at a time right now....

Hey, Get Luis with all his famous friends 😀. The 109 is my favourite a/c (I've probably told you that before) but the F model is my favourite 109!!! That would get my mojo going In sure. Seeing others work inspires e when I've lost the will to model.

A great video as usual.
