China's new J-35

As part of our series on fifth gen fighter aircraft, earlier in 2024 we looked at the Shenyang FC-31, or J-31. Originally a competitor to the J-20, the concept lost out, becoming a privately funded venture. Emerging as a working prototype in 2012, and publicly unveiled in 2014, the J-31 nonetheless slowly faded into relative obscurity. However, in November 2024, at the Zhuhai Air show in China, the new J-35A made an impressive debut. In this video we are going to break down everything we know so far about the new design, from rumours and observations, to officially released information.

Corrections: At 11:34 "the new WS-19s" - not "WS-19S"

A fair, balanced, unbiased video. Something which keeps on getting rarer by the day.

If the J-10c destroyed the Rafale, I imagine what the J-35 can do...

Saw somewhere China's delivering the first tranche of 5th Generation J-35s to Pakistan at the end of this year.

Nice to see a fair and balanced review of a non NATO/US military aircraft, this channel is one of few that doesn't carry on like US fanboys

The J-10 of the PLAAF shot down 3 Rafales and a Su-35 along with other fighters from BVR hundreds of kilometers inside of enemy territory. I can only imagine how much the J-35 could achieve especially with stealth tech.

Chinese made tech was being made fun of all this time but I see that people are finally taking it seriously after the embarrassment India got against Pakistan.

F35 is a bulky fat bird like a turkey while J35 is a sleeker, leaner, agile bird. For people saying this is a copy of F35, they don't know what the heck they are talking about. Both have different configurations and specs. F35 is one engine while J35 is 2 engines.

Yeah I think the main selling points of J35 are the high efficiency, maintainability, and producibility. The production line of J20 in AVIC-Chengdu is full and PLAAF want more 5th fighters so they let AVIC-Shengyang join the game

Truly one of the best military channels out there I have a big interest in eastern equipment and it's hard to find videos that aren't just West good East bad. I love the Chinese military they have so many cool aircraft and tanks can't forget the ships too so thanks for your coverage.

The designation for the naval variant is not J-31B or J-31C. It is J-35. The land based variant is J-35A. Both of them do not have side weapon bay, which is more of the artwork of military fans. The engine that J-35A used in Zhuhai airshow is unlikely to be WS-19. But maybe we will see WS-19 soon.

1)At Zhuhai pretty sure it wasnt using the WS19

2)KF21 is not comparable to a J35, J35 is a finished (well nearly finished until the engines are mass produced) but the KF21 won't have internal weapons bay in its first variant, isn't actually that stealthy because of lack of materials, and will have an F18 engine not a natively produced 5th gen engine.

It's like night and day.

Crazy that the company just went through and made the plane anyways even though they lost the contract, that takes big balls.

Last month's Zhuhai Aviation Exhibition in China had the latest J35 videos. Why were these old videos shown?
