Led Zeppelin's 1972 Australasian Tour was the only concert tour of Australia and New Zealand by the English rock band. The tour commenced on 16 February and concluded on 29 February 1972. (Led Zeppelin's guitarist Jimmy Page had earlier toured Australia with The Yardbirds in January 1967).

Led Zeppelin received generally good press coverage for this tour and black-and-white footage of some of their concert at Sydney on 27 February,[3] along with a press party, were filmed by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and shown to a national audience..

Part way through this tour, Jimmy Page shaved off his trademark beard, a look he adopted nearly two years before while recording Led Zeppelin III. He had the beard at Led Zeppelin's concert in Melbourne 20 February, but is clean shaven at the band's press party two days later. Page would remain clean shaven for the rest of the band's career.

All of the concerts on this tour except for one (at Brisbane on 29 February) were performed at open-air venues. The Melbourne performance at Kooyong Stadium on 20 February was cut short due to inclement weather.

Robert Plant – lead vocals, harmonica
Jimmy Page – guitars, theremin, live backing vocals, production
John Paul Jones – bass, keyboards, occasional backing vocals
John Bonham – drums, percussion, occasional backing vocals

We were lucky to hear anything of zepplin all we got to hear is them off of a scratched record player!
Yep thats what it was like in 1970, I was 14 and lucky to have one! They only did one concert in Sydney, i see a lot of comments about pple complaining
You all got no idea!
It was raw then, thats what it was like! Everything was old school and organic, nobody really had a camera back then! Do you see anyone having a phone being held up? No you dont! Not a camera in the audience not one! Thats why you will never ever get a band like Zepplin again! Now its all sterile and you all have no idea, so stop complaining!
It was organic, now your all fed perfection everything, be in gratitude for bands and the record of their memory despite how you all are complaining at least
We were lucky to have 10 mins on tv in black in white of a music show once a week back then, to us this was bliss!
It still is to me! Its wonderful looking back, this captures how it was, the song remains the same! Wonderful memories of times gone that will never ever return! I don’t remember us complaining once about being able to catch just a glimpse of them!
Thx Zeppelin, for creating so many memories!

The Drums sound extra good in this one. The bass thunders and the snare is solid and tight. Awesome.

Rock audiences and performers like Led Zeppelin had SOUL back then. It was laid back and cool as heck but centered on giving a great show. Plant, Page, Bonham and Jones delivered the best there was to offer. Now, it's about high ticket prices for various performers long past their prime ... who charged a small fraction of what they do now when they were in their primes. It's all about gross receipts and payouts to soulless attendees who want spectacle without real appreciation. Truly sad times, the 2020s.

I’m sick of this bollocks. Yet another upload of some archive video footage spliced together with some archive audio footage, both of which are very clearly from different Zeppelin forever 🤘

This is the same footage used for the Immigrant Song. And why the cameras are more focused on with the audience rather than the band is baffling.

Actually this audio is from a live in Los Angeles (June 1972), but the images are really from Australia

I heard this on Alexa without seeing the video 1st. Now I'm here...either way, it sounds (not looks) awesome.

Great sound. Too bad the camera guys were all having seizures.

in my opinion 1972 live shows peak of their performance, after they released the 4th album which is undoubtedly their best studio album

Who doesn't love Zeppelin? But the audio track here is from "How The West Was Won".(Which was Long Beach CA, June 1972.)The video is from Australia. Title is misleading.

Jimmy playing “Bouree” by J.S. Bach during his solo is pretty damn sweet!

If, "Terry Reid"did not recommend and introduce "Plant and Bonham", to Mr. Pagey . Zeppelin would have been an Airless Blimpe....!!

I think the cameraman was also high on trip that he couldn't hold the camera steadily for even a second!😕 He just shot the video the way his brain was spinning with drugs even I lost my mind by end of the video!😇 It was such a rare event with amazing artists' performance he should've shot with more sense and responsibility!☹️

Me thinks the cameraman had a snort to many. Can't keep still. The sound is great. The footage is ghastly.
