When it was new on Enterprise in the first season thru the 4th... This song saved my life and it and the Enterprise series is why I'm here today. It gave me hope, made me want to live again after a lot of bad shit. I'm here because of this one song.

This song helped keep me going years ago when I was going through the most difficult period in my life I had ever had to deal with. I had the loss of a job due to budget cutbacks, the loss of several family members, and friends within about a 5 month period. I used to set my cd player to keep repeating this song as a reminder that even though I’ve seen the darkest days, I’ve got faith.

In many ways this song captures what humanity strives for as explorers, and in a sense it fit with Enterprise as humanity took its first steps as explorers into a larger galaxy. The journey started with Enterprise and continues with Picard and possibly beyond.

This is the first time I've heard this in over 12 years. It has been too painful to hear it because when this song played during the opening credits my Aunt rang to tell us Nan had just passed away. Along with the song and the visuals of people flying broke us all apart as our Nan was excited because she was going to fly for the first time and have a holiday aboard for the first time in her life before she fell ill.

And I know it's kinda silly but when I first went abroad, I made sure I packed my Nan's photo with my things. I just needed to do that for her.

This song symbolises the technological progress of early pioneers to the Golden age of spaceflight, even though it shows the crew of Apollo 11 waving upon their walkout to the transport van, in the Enterprise titles you see a brief glimpse of Alan Shepard - commander of Apollo 14, plus seeing the majestic lift off, of the space shuttle is still an awe inspiring sight 😀
