Lyrica For Nerve Pain

I've been to a neurologist and had every test done possible to address my neuropathy. The results were inconclusive. No visible reason for it. When I started taking Lyrica it helped tremendously with no side effects whatsoever. If I let my prescription run out, most of my pain returns, but no withdrawals. When I restart, my pain goes down again. So that being the case, I will continue using it as I have no other answer for my pain.

As it turns out, going longer than 48 hours without it, for me, causes SEVERE withdrawal symptoms, that could very easily turn fatal. I found this out the hard way, after faithfully talking them for over 10 years. I'm in the process of weening off, now, as possible DEATH is not an acceptable side affect of ANY medication. I'm not really sure if I'll survive this, or how I'll feel off of it, as I have neuropathy after a leg crush injury. I'm starting out on CBD, and it seems to help.

I took Pregabalin for a short time. Pregabalin caused extremely muscle weakness to me. Muscle weakness caused tons of rupture of muscles, tendons and ligaments to me. I’m mostly bedridden now. My physical injuries are incurable.

This is a good way to do it. Personally, I do this for my own pain. I change my diet, go to gym, stretch, get more sleep, I do what I can to help the never ending pain. However, treatments are not a cure. In fact there is no cure. So you’re right, don’t take medication and sit on your ass expecting results. But you can’t just leave the medication out of it. Some of us don’t have the energy or motivation to even get to physical therapy because of the constant pain

Hi Doctor, just looking for your personal opinion on a crushed hip/pelvis it happened to me over 3 years ago now but still have intense lingering nerve pain.. treated conservatively but probably should have been braced with a belt of some type or even surgery might have helped it has been a miserable recovery i'm just wondering how to find a diagnosis on the root cause of what is still causing this pelvic pain syndrome and bad nerve pain going down the leg, would it be MRI for hip/back area? then just like the best physio chiro massage I can find? I got rolled over by front end of a chevy pickup truck and had pelvis fractured in different areas with no surgery (collarbone had to be fixed) nothing besides bedrest and even though it was all extremely painful I was more scared of surgery down there I think and just soldiered through it.. also what steroid or peptides would be best at recovering/ bouncing back from something like that? (by the way i am strong again and not limping anymore its just bothersome and i still have to take medications for pain). I hope you see and respond to this message Thank You if you do. God Bless.

Root cause for me is repetitive work delivery mail. I’m the slowest carrier because my hands hurt through out the day with only one kidney medication is limited.

My dad had a stint that came loose and he lost blood flow in his left leg for about 24 hours until they fixed it. He has had a lot of pain in his foot ever since. What would you think would help?

I had been dealing with shoulder pain and taking over-the-counter pain, meds for years, and few months ago my hand and half my arm went numb, so I finally I went to the doc and had x-rays and MRIs that show in my neck I have two protruding disc, three bulging discs, spinal stenosis, reverse cervical lordosis, bone spurs and a flattened spinal cord. Over the course of a couple months I have had burning pain in my neck, and Lyrica was the only thing that will get rid of the burning. I am doing physical therapy consistently, and my arms and fingers are still numb and my shoulder and upper arm still throbbing with pain and muscle spasms but until we get the vertebrae off of this nerve, I will be taking Lyrica for the burning. Flexor all at the lowest dose is what I used to help me sleep, but for pain, Lyrica did nothing really except to get rid of the burning, which I am grateful for so I will still be continuing to take this, but only temporarily.

What can be done for sciatica? My back was fused L4-S1 when I was 24yo. I'm now 44yo and have had the worst sciatic pain 6mo post-op. Only on left side and goes down my buttock and down the back of my leg to behind the knee. Feel like someone is jabbing a dull screw driver in the joint, and a rusty wire down my leg.

Not sure if you’re a doctor or hold the cure to nerve pain… but some people have permanent nerve pain and don’t have a choice …

I have fibromyalgia and I think I have endometriosis however the same burning pain im getting in my pelvic area is same burning sensations I get elsewhere in my body. I tried physical therapy at a hospital my back and also pelvic floor therapy. Pelvic floor helped but pain is still there. I do have cyst on ovaries but the only way to find out is to do laproscopic. So before I go that route I want to see if lyrica or cymbalta works first. Any suggestions? I'm so fed up and miserable 😫
