Cooling technology a new era for thermoelectric coolers

Thermoelectric coolers operate according to the Peltier effect. The effect creates a temperature difference by transferring heat between two electrical junctions. A voltage is applied across joined conductors to create an electric current. When the current flows through the junctions of the two conductors, heat is removed at one junction and cooling occurs. Heat is deposited at the other junction.

Typical applications include: electric vehicle battery thermal management system with thermoelectric cooling, laser diode arrays in fiber optic systems, and thermoelectric cooling for LiDAR devices also opens the door to new functionality where wavelength control is critical.

Thermoelectric coolers offer a myriad of benefits when traditional cooling methods are unsuited. Additionally, thermoelectric coolers are environmentally safer than other cooling units in the market because they do not emit chlorofluorocarbons or refrigerant emissions.

The only problem is Tec coolers are super inefficient

cooling devices consume alot electricity!! I have a food freezer that operate on electricity ( 180 volt - 190 volts ) and draws ( 1 ampere - 1.5 ampere ). The amperage consumption may decrease if the voltage increases. Is this excessive consumption ? Leakage and malfunctions are rare. Malfunctions can occur in any device.
