Watched this movie when I was 17 at the movies with my girlfriend, watched it again with my wife yesterday and we both commented that it was the best movie the both of us have ever seen together from our dating time.

We first watched this back in 2004, undecidedly because it was late at night and we were just browsing for movies through different channels. Thats to say we went into this blindly, without knowing any synopsis abt it and we thought we were just watching a cheesy B movie. Wrong. So wrong. I was literally gripping my seat halfway through the movie and all of us were quiet, transfixed to the screen. Needless to say, this film holds the record for me being the first movie whose ending made my jaw drop. It surprises me in a lot of ways. Such a fun ride. Great times too.

a perfect thriller that easily outclass its sequels in this saga, a brutal tale about murder, deceits, manipulations, corruption and revenge, in middle of a hypocrite and despicable society, one never know when the web of treason lies upon you, and the puppetmaster turns into another puppet in the stage, with a hateful Karma Houdini included, this is a huge classic of the genre, nothing is what it seems, always are alligators lurking awaiting to bite their next victim, perfect shocking film, inside any person lies a beast.

I would love to see the original pool scene where Suzie fights back as shown here. In both cuts of the released film, she doesn’t, but I suppose that was a choice to keep Neve Campbell’s character sympathetic. By the way, the recently released 4K remaster is amazing! A massive step up from the old DVD and Blu-Ray.
