IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY: ISOCITRATE DEHYDROGENASE (IDH-1)
Isocitrate Dehydrogenase (IDH-1) mutations have been implicated in Diffuse Astrocytomas, Oligodendrogliomas and Glioblastomas and is essential for typing and classification of gliomas according to current WHO 2016 guidelines. It helps to distinguish Diffuse Astrocytoma from Astrocytosis.
