Matty, what’s the cpu like on this compared to soothe 2?

The multiband reminds me of the Phil Speiser "The Smoother". I use that a bit and I like breaking up the ranges with custom thresholds. Equator doesn't look bad (and actually modern looking for Waves). Looks everyone is getting into this genre of plugins.

Thanks Matty. Looks like a cool plugin.... I bought Soothe 2 in 2020... and I can still use it. But I have many Waves plugins I bought in 2020 and 2021 that I haven't been able to use since I got my Mac Studio in 2023 because I would have to pay to upgrade to the same exact version I had before. Their upgrade plan doesn't make sense in today's market. But as usual, great video!

Super useful tutorial! Thank you! I'm using Equator and I'm really liking it so far. About sidechaining, I wonder if it's better or more useful than Izotope's Neutron Unmask. Still haven't tried to compare. Maybe, it could be the theme for one of your future videos. Thanks again!

on vocals should i use the waves curve equator first in vocal chain to clean up before mixing my vocal or after my vocal chain to clean up the already mixed sound?

Lot's of people comparing it to Soothe and maybe using it as a replacement. Not sure about that, a bit more broad brush than Soothe, but I have been trying it in SC mode a lot, and it really shines. Maybe not a Soothe killer, but I am definitely going to replace TrackSpacer in my sessions going forward.

Is it similar to some modules on Ozone 11 or Soundtheory Gullfoss?

Sounds pretty good and good controls, like a dynamic EQ. But what frequencies is it targeting within the bands, can you adjust that?

Great vid! Just when I thought I was out, Waves keeps pulling me back in! I reviewed it a couple days ago and I was blown away. I found it as powerful as Soothe 2—more in some ways, yet less prone to artefacts. For $40, I mean, why not?!?
Do you think it's going to become a daily-driver for you?🤔

interesting plugin. $40 is great price tag if it has power of soothe2

I kind of wonder if everything is smoothed and under control, won't it get boring to listen to. I mean no edges, no squeaks, no emotions

Well explain, thank you. I like that this thing does not do more than necessary.

The think the shape would be good on overall mixes . Pink being pink noise frequency, warm maybe brown and Flat being white noise just my theory .

It's not really $79 when you think about it. The current sale price as usual is a money grab. Over time you're going to repay x amount of times for any of their plugins. Haven't bought anything from them since 2021.

Pros use dedicated VSTS for certain things..no single vst can be best for all tasks that's why VSTS like this will stop your creativity..and give your song just same sound all through ..soothe is perfect no need for this that's the difference between me and the new generation mix ENGINEERS without focus ..
